When becoming a full member of SARC there will be several stages which you will now go through – you will be introduced to your squad where the coach will then guide you through a series of sessions determining your fitness and ability in order to establish a plan that will take your ability to the next level. It is important that you are willing to commit to your squads training plan and racing throughout regatta season.
Outside of training we have lots of fun club social/fundraising events. This is not only to have loads of fun with your new crew mates but also to raise crucial funds for the club.
At the end of the day (other than making new friends and having lots of fun) we’re all here to become the best rowers we can be!
Generally our training sessions are as follows:
Monday to Thursday 6:30 – 8:30PM (1 hour sessions)
Saturday and Sunday 8.00 – 11.30AM (1-2 hour sessions)
In winter, with the dark evenings, week day sessions will be land training. We expect members to attend at least 2-3 sessions per week, commitment dependent.
